Spray application gives a very smooth, even finish and covers large areas quickly. It's the right choice for empty or renovated spaces, new builds, ceilings, and sometimes doors and cabinetry. We mask and protect everything that isn't being painted and prepare surfaces before spraying.

Repairs to plasterboard walls and ceilings, including holes, cracks, dents, water damage and damage left by other trades, finished ready for paint. It's the right choice when walls are damaged, before a repaint where the surface isn't sound enough to paint over, or after renovation work has left gaps and patches. We cut out and replace damaged board, fix and stop joins, then sand and prime so repairs blend in with the wall around them.
Exterior Painting

A full exterior repaint, with extra care for older homes. We address paint that is peeling, chalking or cracking, ideally before it fails and lets moisture in. We assess the boards, repair or flag rot, strip failing paint back to a sound surface, then prime and coat with a system suited to the age and condition of the timber. Exterior painting for homes exposed to salt, wind and strong UV. It's the right choice for any home near the coast, where paint wears faster than inland. We wash salt and contamination off before painting, take extra care with edges, end grain and fixings where failure usually starts, and choose coatings suited to coastal exposure. Sprayed coatings on cladding such as board and batten, weatherboards, corrugated and metal cladding, plus fences and larger surfaces. It's the right choice when an even finish and efficiency matter on big areas. We mask windows, doors and surrounds, prepare surfaces first, and spray only in suitable weather. We remove loose paint and rust, treat bare metal, then prime and finish with a coating made for metal. You get a refreshed look and protection against further corrosion.

Cleaning and oiling weathered or greying cedar. It's the right choice when cedar has dried out or started to fade and you want to restore it before it deteriorates. We clean back weathered surfaces, sand where needed, then apply an oil chosen for the timber and where it's used.

Penetrating stains and oils on cladding, doors, handrails and interior timber. It's the right choice when you want the natural grain to show instead of painting over it. We prepare the surface, recommend a product for each job and apply coats at the manufacturer's coverage rates. You get a finish that shows the timber and protects it.

Restoring timber doors, windows and frames. It's the right choice when joinery is worn, stained or weathered, and replacing it would cost more and lose character. We strip failing finish, repair and fill minor damage, then sand and refinish. You get joinery restored to good condition with a finish that lasts.

We choose products that are easier on the people in your home and the people applying them. Where a job suits it, we use natural, plant-based oils and finishes. For painted surfaces we offer options for low-VOC paints, and we're a Resene Eco Decorator. Low-VOC means less odour and less chemical off-gassing while the paint dries, which matters in homes with children, pets or anyone sensitive to chemicals. We choose the product for each job, because no single product suits every surface.

Much of a paint job's lifespan is decided before any paint goes on. We clean, sand, repair and prime every surface, and follow each manufacturer's guidance on coverage, drying times and conditions. We choose products for the surface and exposure of each job, and we'll tell you what we're using and why. Recent examples: Resene Woodsman on board and batten cladding, Resene Summit on a roof, Livos natural oil on cedar, and Peter Fell Natural Sealer on exterior concrete.

We work close to the water, so we're careful about what leaves our sites. We separate paint solids from wash water and treat it before it's released, and we keep paint and cleaning water out of stormwater and drains. We invest in quality tools and look after them so they last, sort and recycle packaging and leftover paint where we can, and keep single-use items to a minimum, though some are unavoidable in this trade.

Every quote is itemised: a line-by-line breakdown of the work, estimated hours, materials at actual cost, the timeframe, what's excluded, and any risks we've spotted on site. During the job we keep you updated on progress and any changes. After the job, we check in at intervals we agree with. If something comes up within 12 months that's our responsibility, we fix it at no cost.
